The Monster Marketplace is Saturday, September 24, 2016

Noon - 9pm

~ 2016 Guests ~

To us, the convention and now the Monster Marketplace is a bit of a family. We’re a small show and a lot of the folks that have been with us since the beginning have become part of our wonderfully weird horror family. One of those people is Tom Sullivan. Tom has been with us since the beginning and his support and enthusiasm for the show has been amazing. Tom is best known for his special effects work on THE EVIL DEAD but he also worked on THE FLY 2 and has become a staple of indie horror. As well as his effects work Tom is an accomplished artist – have you seen his Lovecraft inspired art? GAH! – and stop motion animator. Truly one of the nicest people you can meet at any show, it’s an honor to welcome back TOM SULLIVAN.

Following in the footsteps of Cleveland's legendary 60s horror host, Ghoulardi, The Son of Ghoul has himself become an Ohio television icon. And with 29 consecutive years on the air, he is among the longest running costumed horror hosts in the nation!

Son of Ghoul brings a high-spirited rock and roll attitude to those bad old movies we love to hate, spicing up the likes of The Wasp Woman, The Corpse Grinders and Bela Lugosi Meets a Brooklyn Gorilla with a lively variety of goofy sound effects and crazy music.

The Son of Ghoul Show is currently seen on W16DO-D Cleveland & WAOH-CD 29 Akron.

Seen Saturday nights at 8 P.M. Prime Time.

We are very excited to have Mark Bloodworth back with us this year. Mark was with us in 2013 and it was a pleasure to have him there and we are thrilled to have him back.

Mark Bloodworth is an artist and storyteller. He created the critically favored, urban crime comic book, Nightstreets for Arrow Comics during "The Black and White Independent Explosion of the Eighties" from 1985-89. In early 1990, he took over art chores on another Arrow title called Deadworld. After a few issues Mark had taken over both art and writing chores on the book.

In 1991, he was contracted by Marvel Comics to create character design, spot illos, and story art for Clive Barker's: Hellraiser. Throughout the rest of that decade and into the new millennium he illustrated many titles, such as, Cheerleaders From Hell, Jack The Ripper, Raven Chronicles, The Ripper Legacy (from Caliber Comics), the critically hailed Abel, written by William Harms (from AiT/Planet Lar), and three plates for Zorro: The Masters Edition, Vol 1 (from Pulp Adventures).

Mark's artwork can be seen in his Midnight Mortuary, an homage to the great black & white comic monster magazines of the 1970's, Deadworld Chronicles (from Desperado), as well as working with talents Shannon Denton, Christopher Long, and Rob Worley on a series of children's books called Short Tales (released through the Magic Wagon wing of ABDO Publishing).

In the past few years Mark has been creating original sketch card artwork for various series released from 5finity Productions, Breygent, and Galans Sketch Cards, Versicolor and many others.

Most recently, Mark's artwork can be seen in the original graphic novel Deadworld: The Last Siesta (from IDW) and The Book of Tarot (Transfuzion).

Steven Shipp is an artist and graphic designer who does the beloved covers for the Fear Finder Halloween paper every season. He is also the art director for the world famous Erebus haunt and works as an artist in virtually every creative medium. He will have posters of the jaw dropping Fear Finder covers available and free copies of the paper on hand at Monster Marketplace.

Vince Locke began his career as an artist in 1986 drawing Deadworld, a zombie horror comic that soon became an underground hit. Since then, his comics work has included The Sandman, American Freak, Batman,Witchcraft: La Terreur, The Spectre, Judge Dredd, The Unwritten, and A History of Violence, which was later adapted into a movie directed by David Cronenberg. My most recent published work is the graphic novel Junction True, which was written by Ray Fawkes. He has painted over a dozen album covers for Cannibal Corpse, illustrated work by the dark-fantasy author Caitlín R. Kiernan, and supplied paintings for Aqua Teen Hunger Force on The Cartoon Network.

Michael Felsher is the owner and operator of Red Shirt Pictures, which produces documentaries, short films, and DVD projects for a variety of companies and distributors. Besides editing a jaw dropping number of features for an incredible variety of legendary horror films including the Texas Chain Saw Massacre series, he is the director of “Just Desserts: The Making of Creepshow” and the award winning “Monster Squad Forever!”, among other full length documentaries.

Unfortunately our guest JASON MOORE has had to cancel his appearance due to a scheduling conflict.

The haunted horrors of Halloween have given birth to a band so diabolical Hell wouldn't have them but we will!

(The LORDS will be performing at the end of the night in the Drive-In Room).

All guest appearances are confirmed but subject to possible cancellation due to professional obligations

and opportunities beyond the control of Flint Horror Convention. We appreciate your understanding.
